sweet child

Sweet child

Perched at edge of stage

As I sing the song

‘Beautiful ‘

She

Sings along

Her legs swing

Her head sways

Clapping in time

Eyes brightly shine

Gleaming His light

Touching my heart

With her open simplicity

A thing of beauty

A Godsend for me

Thank you Father

I go to sit with her

We smile

No matter

That the words are from another land

As with our hands

We form

a mountain

a tree

a bird

waves of the sea

Then we sing together

‘Beautiful’

I look at her

She looks at me

She is...

Beautiful

And she is

Free

Sweet child of God

A lasting memory

From my Father

To me
